Still needed MusicCast but it controlled my Aventage RX-A680 just fine - still with some minor bugs - however it suddenly disconnected for no apparent reason. I didn't change anything on my wifi. And I've been trying for over 30 minutes to reconnect and I'm physically right at the receiver, but no matter what I do or try, it won't connect anymore. And yes everything is up to date and has been restarted/rebooted multiple times. By year 2024 you figure a huge worldwide tech company would do better

If you're wondering whether to update this app, DO NOT DO IT. You will completely lose the ability to control your receiver, internet radio will be gone, etc. This is such a complete FAILURE as an app that one can only conclude that this has been intentionally disabled for some future commercial reason. Maybe an attempt to force an amp upgrade out of us? COMPLETELY UNUSABLE, IT WILL NOT"SEE" YOUR AMP AND MANUALLY ENTERING THE IP ADDRESS DOESN'T WORK EITHER.

The Yamaha AV Receiver app is solid overall. The ability to control the dialog and sub woofer levels from the app is especially useful for movies. However, the app is missing one feature that is available in the apps from Denon, Marantz, Pioneer, and Onkyo. Please add the ability to adjust the level and mute/unmute each speaker independently directly from the app (without requiring the receiver's setup program).
