Fun, basically the same as all the others. But very turned off by the freemiun mechanics in a game I bought. You buy a game and stuff is still paywalled off? Gross. I was introduced to this series through play pass, bummed that this is the state of things. Also, really annoying there is no "glossary" or anything to tell what enemies do, or even what your own towers actually do. Have to place them in a level and check them.

Everything they said it would be. It's fun. It's challenging. The art is beautiful and the story is great. My only complaint is that there's less towers to choose from with less abilities. Also, but the grim wraiths! They can swap places with any tower spot, empty or not. This allows you to change the entire position of your tower placements on the fly. Completely worth the price. Got mages in the front that you suddenly need more in the back? Grim wraith swap!

Excellent game, but now you have to buy half of the towers and heroes with real money. I understand micro transactions, and I've never been opposed to paying a few bucks for a special hero on a game, but now 8 heroes and 5 towers are behind a paywall! It's over half the available heroes. And if you buy them all with a bundle "discount" it's another $35!!! I could buy an console game for that. Guys, you went from reasonable to greedy, and it's disappointing.
