Such an interesting seminar at Première Vision on 'Eco Innovations' focusing on 3 pillars of sustainability: Traceability, Circularity, and Conserving Resources. 🌍 Traceability is key for complying to new and existing regulations, e.g Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Uyghur Forced Labour Protection Act (UFLPA), EU Forced Labour Regulation. 💚 Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification not only ensures the fibres are organic and the garment workers have safe working conditions, it also provides global traceability of the supply chain. The seminar touched on GOTS certified organic silk which protects nature and workers from harmful chemicals. ♻ A key part of Circularity is thinking beyond recycling. Starting with product durability to increase the lifespan of products needs to be the first step in circular design. 🌱 Conserving resources, and in turn, protecting biodiversity are key elements of organic farming practices - organic was regenerative before it was cool!
