  • The eventlogging-client-side topic had plenty of raw events for MediaWikiPingback. So events were being forwarded by varnishkafka just fine.
  • The eventlogging_MediaWikiPingback topic had only a handful of events in the last 7 days.
  • eventlogging-client-side looks like it has no 'bytes out' since July 3. This means that the kafka consumer is not actually consuming.
  • I checked journalctl logs for eventlogging-processer@client-side-* on eventlog1003, nothing relevant.
  • I tcpdump port 9092 on eventlog1003, no traffic. The Kafka consumer just looked stuck?
  • I restarted eventlogging-processer@client-side-*, and now events look like they are flowing in!
