Click here JULY NEWSLETTER Kia ora koutou There are only two weeks left to make submissions at the public consultation stage of the Safer Online Services and Media Platforms review. We encourage you to check out the consultation information page. Submissions close Monday 31 July 2023 NZT. Our small but mighty team have been working on our own submission, which is drawing on the Office's nearly 30 years of experience in classifying content for New Zealand audiences. That experience means we see the trends, we know the gaps, and we understand the potential harms from media that is being consumed in many different ways. This past month we have also been talking at in-person events about the mahi of the Office and how that helps protect New Zealanders. We've broken down ratings and classifications for the new releases so that audiences can make informed decisions about what they want to watch. Our newsletters generally talk about topics like sex, drugs, and the media content landscape. Our aim is to have difficult conversations and shine a light on ways to reduce harm for New Zealanders. If you know someone who should receive these updates, please share our newsletter or encourage them to subscribe. Be sure to follow our socials too.
