We make it fast and easy. All software updates for SHIELD are directly pushed out by NVIDIA. You'll see a notification in the recommendation row of Android TV when an update is available. Once you confirm, the system will automatically download and apply the update.
You can also manually check for updates at Settings > About > System updates.
