Chemical carcinogens cause structural alteration in the DNA leading to genomic instabilities which is observed as chromosomal anomalies, being contributed by direct exposure of the DNA of the epithelial cells to nicotine, conicotine, aromatic polycyclic hydrocarbons and aromatic amines.
