In this newsletter, our office is excited to announce part of the awardees for the 2020-2021 NOCS Funding Scheme. We’d like to thank 45 IAU National Outreach Coordinators (NOCs) who applied for the programme and congratulate the 17 who were afforded funding in this first round. You can read more about the funded projects below.
This issue also includes information on two upcoming virtual meetings for astronomy in different fields: the next Shaw-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education and a special symposium from the Astronomical Society of the Pacific on climate change and astronomy. Both meetings have deadlines that are very soon, so please have a look.
And this next month are two large global outreach events: Asteroid Day and On the Moon Again!. Members of the public are invited to host events around each event, and the links below provide more information on how to plan those events or join in from home.
Lastly, we also want to issue a correction to the previous issue of the newsletter. The IAU Office for Astronomy Outreach is not a partner in the World Space Week lecture series.
Wishing you the clearest skies and good health! Izumi Hansen, on behalf of the IAU Office for Astronomy Outreach Team
