1. To imagine that one is or might be a certain type of person or thing. A noun or pronoun is used between "see" and "as." I always saw you as a lawyer when you got older. I lived next to them my whole life—I just can't see them as killers!
2. To create an image in one's mind of one being or looking a certain way. A noun or pronoun is used between "see" and "as." I can't help but laugh seeing my brother the hippie as some straight-laced police officer. Growing up, whenever my mom talked about my cousin being in the Navy Seals, I always saw him as a literal seal wearing a military uniform.
3. To consider or imagine that something is or might be a particular type of thing. A noun or pronoun is used between "see" and "as." Rather than just being dejected by failure, try to see it as an opportunity to improve yourself and learn from your mistakes. I've always seen sports clubs as a great way of improving one's social life in addition to improving one's physical health.
