To pay money in order to gain access to a group or place. He bought his way into the organization through hefty donations. Listen, this isn't the sort of establishment where you can just buy your way in with a wad of cash. Money talks, right? Well, that guy's a billionaire, so he's used to buying his way into any event that strikes his fancy.
