From the Artist: “As a fan of both Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, the Horizon games have been one of my favorite gaming titles to play over the years and I couldn’t be more excited to notch a small dent of my own art into the franchise. Traveling with Aloy across treacherous, post-apocalyptic terrain - all while battling robot dinosaurs - has been a favorite pastime of mine to the point where I’ve now clocked in over a healthy 136 hours of combined play-time. One of the most wondrous parts of the game is the art-direction and design of the mechanical beasts that roam free in this world and what a joy it’s been to explore. Obviously one of the highlights of the game is going toe-to-toe with the Clawstrider - one of Aloy’s fiercest mechanical opponents and most reliable allies when hacked. With all that there is to see in the Horizon games - I wanted to capture something simple that was both elegant and deadly. The Clawstrider was the perfect choice to illustrate and I added a blend of rough textures and vibrant color gradients that present itself throughout the game. A single Blight flower blooms in the foreground that represents the real danger that threatens Aloy’s world.”
