3D Vision

3D Vision

(1) Capturing an image in 3D. Methods include taking multiple 2D images that are "stitched" together to create 3D, as well as using two cameras for a stereoscopic capture. See computer vision.

(2) (3D Vision) A stereoscopic 3D gaming system for Windows PCs from NVIDIA. 3D Vision requires an NVIDIA card and a monitor that accepts input at 120 frames per second. The kit includes driver software, infrared transmitter and liquid crystal (LC) shutter glasses to render games written to the Windows Direct3D API. Introduced in 2009, 3D Vision has been praised for its realism. See LC shutter glasses, true 120 Hz, active 3D and 3D visualization.
