Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Robertsky (talk | contribs) at 16:08, 27 June 2024 (Handled 6 requests: Removed Dahal cabinet, 2008, Dahal cabinet, 2016, Dahal cabinet, 2022, Oli cabinet, 2015, Oli cabinet, 2018, Oli cabinet, 2021 as contested (via script)). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

  • To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

    {{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}

    This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
  • If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
  • If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

This seems like a pretty clear WP:DIFFCAPS situation. Retarget Pulp fiction to Pulp magazine, and move the dabpage to Pulp Fiction (disambiguation). 162 etc. (talk) 03:58, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Smileyissleepy disambiguation pages do not require "(disambiguation)" in the title C F A 💬 03:58, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Leave as is. It's quite likely lots of people coming to that page will be looking for Pulp Fiction the movie, and the page also provides a Wiktionary link. Not broken so don't "fix" please.  — Amakuru (talk) 08:49, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The same suggestion was considered in an RM four years ago that did not succeed, so an RM discussion seems necessary. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:35, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexanderkowal If you want to open a discussion, please click the "discuss" link above. ASUKITE 14:00, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathwriter2718 This could be controversial so please start a WP:RM for this. Per WP:TITLECON this seems to be a consistent naming style across titles (see Category:Geodesic (mathematics) C F A 💬 14:16, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
