Just a few more quick book cover sketches
So I had intended to do these for INKTOBER, but I was sick the entire month of october.. great!, So now Ive just done a few.
I wanted to do each one of these as quick as possible, just quick book cover sketches.
INKTOBER, Ive never done anything for it, thought id give it a go.
I will just be doing some real quick book cover stuff, probably post them up in batches of 3 for now, so heres 1st-2nd and 3rd
A long time ago I created a concept image for my version of The Wizard Of Oz, not this one, its way back on my tumblr. This is a new image I felt like doing.
It was set in a land completely frozen over, the yellow brick road frozen and buried by snow. It was dark and grim.
My characters,
“Dorothy”, a medic during WW2, caught in an air raid, wakes up in OZ on a frozen lake.
Cowardly Lion, made of fire, but still a coward. He burns brightly at times but his fires are almost cold to the touch.
Scarecrow, Once a rather intelligent man.. now a Crow made of Straw
“The Tin Man”, not seen in this image, too big to include.. an absolute Giant, the symbol of war and destruction. Lacks any compassion. Also in my version he wouldn’t be part of the Crew, I had something else in mind for him.
So that was the brief outline of the characters.
Ive always wanted to do something with this but like with most things I just don’t have the time, maybe someday I will. For now its just another illustration.
rereading The Name Of The Wind, thought id do a Kvothe illustration.

Cyberpunk 2077 looks pretty awesome, I couldnt resist doing a little bit of art inspired by it.
