Shortcuts: COM:AN/B • COM:AN/P • COM:RFPP

This is a place where users can communicate with administrators, or administrators with one another. You can report vandalism, problematic users, or anything else that needs an administrator's intervention. Do not report child pornography or other potentially illegal content here; e-mail legal-reports@wikimedia.org instead. If reporting threatened harm to self or others also email emergency@wikimedia.org.

Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.


Report disputes with users that require administrator assistance. Further steps are listed at resolve disputes.


Reports that do not suit the vandalism noticeboard may be reported here. Requests for page protection/unprotection could also be requested here.


Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

I, as an admin on enwiki, have been dealing with socks of Vinayvinyill (talk · contribs) (see sockpuppet investigation and list of blocked socks) many of whom have also been uploading images with dubious claims of "own work" on Commons. Most, possibly all, these images are of the Kannada actor Darshan. The currently known socks are:

although several new ones have been created almost everyday, recently. Bringing this to the attention of Commons admins so that they can deal with the copyright and socking issues as appropriate. L. Beck

Repeatedly and despite warnings, he removes files from the obviously appropriate category, because he misinterprets the term "overcategorization". Although the principles of categorization were explained to him already in December 2023, he clearly refuses to understand and accept them and continues with mass disruptive editing. He removes images of Pravčická brána as the dominant subject from the category of Pravčická brána, formerly he removed images of the chapel in Hřensko from the category of the chapel in Hřensko etc.

Guten Morgen! Ich beschäftige mich schon sehr lange eingehend mit dem Kategoriensystem hier auf Commons und übrigens auch mit Themen wie dem Editwar. Es ist ja schön, dass du eine Diskussion gestartet hast (bei der du mich ganz nebenbei gesagt persönlich diskreditierst), führst aber weiterhin unbegründet deine Änderungen durch, die eben schlicht ergreifend zur Überkategorisierung und damit in einer solch großen Kategorie zu massiven Chaosproblemen führen. Yes exactly. The principles of categorization must first be understood before one can apply them. If some individual has not understood the principles and rules and disrupts the categorization and causes chaos with mass disruptive editing, it is necessary to solve it immediately. Your way of interpretation really deviates from the rules and established and community-used practice. If someone does not accept that the photo of Pravčická brána belongs to the category of Pravčická brána, then it is difficult to find a starting point for further discussion. Du sortierst Bilder doppelt, teilweise dreifach in einen Kategorienbaum ein. Das ist so nicht akzeptabel und genau das ist der Grund, warum wir Richtlinien für COM:Overcat haben. Ich finde es toll, dass du dir die Mühe gemacht hast, sämtliche Unterkategorien für das Prebischtor zu erstellen, aber dann sei auch so konsequent in deinem Handeln und nehme doppelte und dreifache Kategorien raus.
