It was a huge pleasure to attend the annual SAI Platform conference in Africa in June, where our colleague Bryan Ulmer represented the team. The event took place in Durban, South Africa, and centered around building climate change resilience through regenerative agriculture. It was a unique opportunity to dive into South Africa’s diverse agricultural landscapes and engage in discussions on sustainable practices with core industry partners. Here are some key insights from the event: • Collaboration across the value chain is vital to making positive production impacts. Whether it’s climate, biodiversity or soil health, these are long term objectives and require focus across diverse crop rotations and production systems, necessitating multistakeholder relationships. • Industry alignment is required to move forward in a collaborative way! It’s important to have organizations such as SAI bringing together a diverse groups of stakeholders and driving the alignment necessary to take action. • Regenerative Agriculture adds complexity toward more sustainable production for growers and across the value chain. Innovative, collaborative approaches and new technologies supporting practice changes are integral to success. • Syngenta is well positioned to support growers by adding to existing solutions to enable sustainable production and practice shifts with innovation and technology that will be critical to the adoption and success of regenerative production. #Agriculture #Sustainability #SustainableAgriculture

We’re only 13 years away from when the United Nations (UN) cites our world will reach a significant milestone… global population will exceed 9 billion in 2037. And just two years ago the UN estimated that ~735 million people were already in a state of chronic hunger, and Action Against Hunger stated 3 billion people can't afford a healthy, nutritious diet. With our continuously growing population, farmers will need even more tools and support so that they can continue to feed and provide for the human race, all while conserving and using less of our precious resources. How do we embed sustainability into our business?   At Syngenta Group, we are focusing on four #SustainabilityPriorities. 1) Higher yields, lower impact 2) Regenerate soil and nature 3) Improve rural prosperity and 4) Sustainable operations.   A key initiative of our higher yields, lower impact priority is our Portfolio Sustainability Framework (PSF) - a data-driven tool to assess the sustainability profile of our product portfolio.
