Private match invites are a real mess

Good afternoon. I've purchased two copies of the game so I can play on my laptop with my gf on her laptop. It is like playing the lottery. Sometimes it is an invite, it is received and works like a charm. So MANY times it is impossible to get the invite go through, no matter if I invite her or it is she who invites me. No matter if we use the VPN, if we don't, if we connect to servers on different countries or in the same. No matter if we have the EA app adjustments set with all notifications active,... It is really annoying to have something as simple as this not working so many times... Isn't there a solution for this to be given so we can connect, invite and then play together? TY and forgive my ranting, but I'm really bored of trying anything for this to work and feeling it is a metter of luck or the stage the moon is in
