Contacted EA yesterday regarding running RA2:YR on my windows 8 machine. If i set my resolution higher than 800x600 the screen gets bigger but I cant move my mouse out of the 800x600 area. And the in game menu instantly crashes the game. Anyone solved this issue?

You are playing the game on Windows 8.1. Yuris Revenge is a 14 year old game. It's not supported by windows 8. please refer AnswersHQ and you would get an answer there.

I know that compatibility modes can limit the max. resolution, it could be that EA was setting it to Win9x mode during the installation. Try to turn them off and check what happens

Ive tried windows 98/ME, XP SP2/3, Vista and 7. Also no compatability. All same result. Just an interesting point. YURI.exe is locked in windows 95 compatability. Unable to change! Possibly something to do with it?

You might be able to remove the compat modes directly via the registry, make sure you are logged in as adminitrator. Take care of Game.exe and Gamemd.exe too

I navigated to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

Deleted the entries for RA2 and YR. Although Yuri.exe was shown as XP SP3 in there. It is still in windows 95 compatibility and unselectable mileymad:

Check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE for the global compat settings

That cleared it perfectly. Just still cant get it to work. I think I'm going to give up on this cause, I've lost patience with it mileyvery-happy: Thanks for the help anyway, its just a shame EA couldnt have been a bit more helpful.

So I bought the Online Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection, and literally only Command & Conquer Covert Ops is working the rest of them when it gets to choose if I want to play the exp packs or main game it just crashes, wont even open up the game. Any ideas?

I get the same problem with Red Alert 3 (and Uprising). I cannot launch the game. It just shows the splash screen and then quits. I removed splash file, did everything I found on this topic but still nothing.
