Has the team considered a CTF mode? Maybe a 5v5 or something on a mirrored map, or something like that?
Capture the flag has been my favorite mode in so many games over the years, and it offers a lot of in-game opportunities that battle royale games don't.

I think it would be unlikely for CTF as a mode to just be implemented as is into the game.
Apart from the issue that recon highlighted with camping the objective, certain abilities would make it extremely easy to bring back the flag back to your base.
Disabling those abilities, replacing or limiting legends that would make it much easier, could also make playing the game more frustrating (and likely more work to manage)
Personally I think it could be implemented, but the mode would need to be changed in such a way to account for these factors.
At that point it might not really be CTF as many would know it, but would come close to the concept.
I've always liked CTF, so it would be awesome to see something like that be implemented.

@XHelperZ Maybe something like:
- The flag is kept in a room that only one enemy player at a time can enter and the team who owns the flag cannot enter the room unless they have the enemy's flag, or they're bringing back their own flag. If an enemy player goes AFK or doesn't grab the flag in the room within a reasonable amount of time, they would get teleported back to their base. Otherwise one could sit in the room and then their team won't be able to grab the flag, leading to the other team being able to get points which only allows players to cross team to help their friends win. The reason for the one enemy player limit is to prevent 2-3 from sitting in there, waiting for the flag to respawn to then run off with it.
- The room has multiple ways in and out to prevent players from killing the one who grabbed the flag instantly and the marker doesn't show the player with the flag until after they leave the room to prevent their exit from getting blocked
- All legends are firing range dummies with set abilities or limited ones they can select during the match. Alter, Ash, Wraith, and even Newcastle with an ult can be annoying to deal with as the first three can phase away while Newcastle can jump to their team's base.
Even with these limitations though, players would just end up camping the middle grounds or the enemy's side to where they can shoot down players with their flag, while keeping a team in their base.
I think lockdown was meant to be an alternative mode to CTF as its an area based lockdown mode that randomizes what zones are active, rather than a fixed location that anyone can camp at. Sure, legends like Wattson and Caustic can camp the active zones, but their set up is only as useful as long as that zone is active and other players don't steal the zone.
