Patrick Tiernan '16 CLAS Heads to Paris as University Celebrates Latest Chapter of Olympic Tradition
For the 20th consecutive Summer Olympics there will be at least one Villanovan competing on the world's biggest stage. Former track & field standout Patrick Tiernan '16 CLAS was named one of five athletes selected by the Australian Olympic Committee to compete in the marathon at Paris 2024 Olympics. It will be the third Olympics for Tiernan, a national champion in cross country for the Wildcats in 2016 who previously competed in track events at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics.
Villanova University Update on Cabrini Campus
“We are honored and humbled to be the new stewards of the Cabrini legacy and its beautiful campus,” said Villanova University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, as Villanova assumed ownership of the 112-acre campus in Radnor, Pa., on Friday, June 28.

A team of Villanova students are key contributors to a study measuring air quality in underground subway stations and examining its effect on human lung cells. This research will have implications and useful insights for public transportation systems and transit managers on a regional, national and global scale.
Accelerating Excellence: Behind NovaRacing VU15
For the members of Villanova University’s NovaRacing team, the thrill of the race was more than just crossing the finish line. It was the culmination of months of meticulous planning, late nights in the lab and an unwavering determination to learn from past mistakes. The dedicated crew of students rallied together to design and construct a racecar that secured an
impressive ninth-place overall finish out of 120 international teams at
the annual Formula SAE competition.
18 Villanovans Win Fulbright U.S. Student Grants for 2024-25
The U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board have announced the Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards for 2024-25, with 18 Villanova University students and alumni receiving the competitive grant. In addition to the 18 award recipients, six Villanovans were selected as alternates and 10 earned recognition as semi-finalists. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program, offering students grants to conduct research, study and teach abroad.
