Fellow Swedes, Danes, Finns and Norwegians!

February 2017 marks a big change here at IGN in the Nordics, which up until now has covered Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway under separate editions. Going forward we will be running the Nordic region as a unified IGN edition in English, and we are pretty psyched about it!

We have decided to consolidate the four sites based on a few key factors.

First and foremost, we have found that you, dear reader, are already so good at speaking and writing English, that it makes no sense to spend time writing to you in your local language, splitting focus to four separate countries, if we can do more and better content publishing a single site that everyone understands.

Merging into one entity also means more focus and a single destination for Nordic content, among all the expected great stuff we also will publish with a global angle, of course. We will continue to curate and tailor IGN‘s global content while adding original, locally relevant content for fans in the region – whether it’s events taking place in the Nordic countries, local pricing or release info, or views and opinions from our teams on the ground in each country who will continue to give that local flavour!

Put simply, it’s all about local voice and community – about you, and where you’re from – with the backing of the truly global perspective that only IGN can bring, as the only games media brand with local editions in every major market around the world – an expansion journey which, it’s worth noting, all started in Sweden five years ago.

Being on the doorstep of some of the world’s most renowned studios who happen to be based in this region, we’ll also continue to proudly shine a light on the stars and innovators of games development in our own backyard (relatively speaking).

So please, help us celebrate this new dawn for Swedes, Danes, Finns and Norwegians alike!

Welcome to IGN Nordic.
