The formula for resource gathering seems to be outdated.

  • Old: Formula for gathering quantity = ( Harvesting Power + [50% chance of +1] ) x Harvest Amount Multiplier
  • New?: Formula for gathering quantity = (( Harvesting Power + [50% chance of +1] + [Tool Upgrade (+0 to 3)] ) x [Full Node 2 / Half Node 1] ) x Harvest Amount Multiplier
  • "TU" = Tool Upgrade from 0 (none) to 3 (advanced)
  • Examples (all with an Harvest Amount Multiplier of 1.0)
    • Stone Pick (TU0; 3+0=3) on Stone ("right" tool): 6 or 8
    • Stone Pick (TU1; 3+1=4) on Stone ("right" tool): 8 or 10
    • Iron Pick (TU0; 4+0=4) on Stone ("right" tool): 8 or 10
    • Iron Pick (TU1; 4+1=5) on Stone ("right" tool): 10 or 12
    • Iron Pick (TU2; 4+2=6) on Stone ("right" tool): 12 or 14
    • Iron Pick (TU3; 4+3=7) on Stone ("right" tool): 14 or 16
    • Steel Pick (TU0; 5+0=5) on Stone ("right" tool): 10 or 12
    • Steel Pick (TU3; 5+3=8) on Stone ("right" tool): 16 or 18
    • Steel Axe (TU0; 5+0=5) on Stone ("right" tool): 10 or 12
    • Steel Axe (TU1; 5+1=6) on Stone ("right" tool): 12 or 14
    • Steel Axe (TU2; 5+2=7) on Stone ("right" tool): 14 or 16
    • Steel Axe (TU3; 5+3=8) on Stone ("right" tool): 16 or 18
    • Stone Pick (TU0; 3+0=3) on Wood ("wrong" tool): 3 or 4
    • Stone Pick (TU1; 3+1=4) on Wood ("wrong" tool): 4 or 5
    • Iron Pick (TU0; 4+0=4) on Wood ("wrong" tool): 4 or 5
    • Iron Pick (TU1; 4+1=5) on Wood ("wrong" tool): 5 or 6
    • Iron Pick (TU2; 4+2=6) on Wood ("wrong" tool): 6 or 7
    • Iron Pick (TU3; 4+3=7) on Wood ("wrong" tool): 7 or 8
    • Steel Axe (TU3; 5+3=8) on Wood ("right" tool): 16 or 18
    • Steel Axe (TU0; 5+0=5) on Iron ("right" tool): 5 or 6 or 10 or 12
    • Steel Axe (TU1; 5+1=6) on Iron ("right" tool): 6 or 7 or 12 or 14
    • Steel Axe (TU2; 5+2=7) on Iron ("right" tool): 7 or 8 or 14 or 16
    • Steel Axe (TU3; 5+3=8) on Iron ("right" tool): 8 or 9 or 16 or 18
  • The "old" values for the harvesting powers seem still to be accurate, but contrary to the old example on Resource harvesting seems to be double the amount with also doubling the 50% of +1. Therefore a "full node" must be causing a factor of 2.
  • This "full node" seems to me dependend on which tool is used for which resource. If it is used on the right resource it is counted as a full node (factor 2) and if it is a wrong resource it counts only as a half node (factor 1). Stone, Wood and Coal seem to always follow this rule
  • Only on iron I get also half nodes with the right tool. Like you can hit three times but mostly the third only counts as half, but sometimes also in between. There is some sort of randomness.
  • Because I can not pinpoint the new formula with the right descriptions, I don't edit this section. But it would be nice if someone could verify my finding Joschilein8343389 (talk) 03:08, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
  • I came to the conclusion that the Perk Hard Worker (Survival 20) may have an influence Joschilein8343389 (talk) 15:20, 15 June 2019 (UTC)

`Tools` table incorrect harvestpower display[]

The `tools` table seems to incorrectly display a tier instead of the harvesting power as described here, leading to some confusion - for instance, star metal pick is shown as 8, but has a power of 14. Some tools seem to incorrectly display stronger or weaker values on this list - however, I don't understand the actual intent of this table, and I am refraining from editing it due to this. • Hi Anomalouslysingular, this "Tool Set" table has no cargo query, so it was simply outdated. Nice catch btw. I updated it by hand and added the new Eldarium set too. The intention of this table was a quick overview about the harvesting-power, because back in the days Funcom had a lot of inconsistencies about this.
