Introduction[]
We all love pets and mounts, especially when it comes to Conan Exiles.
Among all the other beautiful and useful pets and mounts, Feral Dogs and Playful Pups have also found their way into the game at some point.
Over time, a few favorites have emerged in the community, one of this is Brutus.
With a little luck and the right follower perks for named dogs, Brutus turns into an absolute beast and will be loyal and helpful to the player.
But how exactly do you get this feral dog? We will find out in this little guide. [1]
Basic requirements[]
- The map expansion DLC, Isle of Siptah.
- The knowledge Carpenter for a
Carpenter's Bench, to be able to build some animal pens. Requires a player of level 10+. - For the simplest carpenter's bench you need:
- The knowledge Apprentice Tamer. Requires a player of level 13+.
- A minimum of one
Small Animal Pen, to hold up at least one puppy to tame. - For the smallest animal pen you need:
- For building purposes and decay reduction, the small animal pen should be built on a foundation of at least 3x4.
- And last but not least, the
Playful Pup (Variant C) and 1 
Exquisite Meat.

Step by step instruction[]
Step 1 (The Ashen Core)[]
- On the Isle of Siptah, visit the Ashen Core.

- This is the main entrance.
- You should go through the right side and avoid aggroing the guards and activating the spiked traps close to them.
Step 2 (The Bonfire)[]
- Go through here and keep to your right. It is very close. You will probably alert the Bearer who is doing push-ups and the Fighter.
- It is possible you might outrun them, but I am not sure if this is safer. Face the battle.
Step 3 (The Pit)[]
- This is what you are looking for. (Used a filter on the picture. Your visibility in the game might be worse).
- If you look closely, you will recognize, there is a little hole behind the Trap.
Step 4 (Inside the Hole)[]
- Inside the hole. You will want to turn right, middle corridor.
Step 5 (The Trap)[]
- Mind this trap. If you are like me, you will be knees deep into the ground and can not see it.
- Early game, setting off this trap means you are dead.
Step 6 (The Price)[]
- Right in front of you is the prize.
- Mind the toxic trap. Do not get closer than needed.
- You probably will have to fight who is in the cave. This time it was not a boss. If it is, beware.
- Early game, it might be challenging. Try to snatch the pup and run if you are really underdeveloped, but once again mind the traps.
